Eclectic + Colorful Urban Indian Wedding at a Craft Brewery!

Planning

Colorful Indian Brewery Wedding

Anjali + Jon’s biggest goal was to bring their families and cultures together in a space that was 100% true to them…and my goodness, did they pull it off! The ceremony and reception took place at Junction Craft Brewing in Toronto (super cool!), and the color palette was rich, colorful and eclectic. Featuring warm, bright, and gorgeous hues of pink, yellow, green, and orange, their palette set the mood for their Hindu ceremony. Oh, and just you wait until you see their “Mandap” made of a giant floral chandelier + green garlands!

The two tell us: We really wanted to have a traditional Indian ceremony in keeping with Anjali’s Indian heritage, but also wanted to incorporate our urban lifestyle, love of vintage and the A’s love of all things floral. We decided on Junction Craft Brewing’s beautiful Art Deco building as the perfect backdrop to bring all of these elements together.

We ADORE when couples infuse their heritage into their big day, and Nagham Cararah of Love By Lynzie truly brought this fusion wedding to fruition. Let’s take a look at all the colorful details Danijela Weddings captured!

To incorporate their love of all things vintage and add a sort of eclectic vibe, they brought in vintage furniture for the family to sit on and layered patterned rugs.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

We loved our wedding ceremony, it was so cool to have a traditional Indian ceremony inside of an industrial brewery. Plus, we got to sit underneath the most incredible floral mandap. The ceremony itself was a lot of fun—most of the time Indian weddings are performed in Sanskrit, but we had ours in English so that everyone could follow along. Our officiant was great, he kept the hour-long ceremony interesting and entertaining and I think people really enjoyed seeing something a little different.

The Colorful Reception

Our other favorite moment was seeing our reception for the first time. After a very dramatic room flip during cocktail hour, seeing the room all lit up by hundreds of candles and all the flowers everywhere created the most romantic vibe—it took our breath away. We could really feel the love in the room as soon as we walked out.

We seriously can’t get over all those florals! The ones festooned from the ceiling + those lining the chairs. Such a gorgeous look!

Anjali loves everything floral, so the team at Love by Lynzie created pressed flower coasters for each guest with their names in calligraphy.

The designer, Nagham of Love by Lynzie, tells us: To bring in Anjali’s Indian heritage, we designed henna patterns and embellished all the signage and table numbers with them.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Stay true to yourselves. Everyone will have a million opinions when it comes to your wedding, but just remember that the only ones that matter are yours. We were really worried about having a fusion wedding and making both sides of our family happy, but we stayed true to what we wanted and it paid off—everyone loved it and thought it was so unique! Also, because design is so important to us, we are so glad we hired an amazing designer and wedding planner to bring our ideas to life and help us infuse our personalities into our big day.
