Links + Loves: A Simple Way to Research Your Ballot + 2 Skirts for Fall

Planning

Welcome to another edition of Links + Loves! Let’s jump right in…

This week we went to the desert with Hayley Paige’s Spring 2021 Collection — as if we needed another reason to look forward to a new year. The gowns are ALL stunners. We also took a peek at fall bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN. There has been a lot of new wedding fashion in the last two weeks and we luuuuuuv it.

Elsewhere, here’s everything you need to know about non-toxic beauty (simplified so it actually makes sense). And a candy charcuterie board inside the bones of a skeleton. Yep, things are beginning to get a little creepy on GWS…!

Here are a few things our editors are loving lately:

///

From Jen:

One of my fave foodie bloggers just launched a collab with Etsy!

I bought these super chic sneakers this week and they are 30% off this weekend!

I’ve made this recipe a few times this past month and it’s a fave for everyone in my family!

From Katie:

Is there anything better than a new bookshelf? Re; no!

Speaking of books — I’m VERY into reading this fall and a local bookstore in Pasadena (Vroman’s Bookstore) has been hit hard with COVID. Please consider buying local! They offer curbside pickup and delivery.

These skeleton earrings by Baublebar are a vibe.

I have this song on repeat. Best heard while dancing in the kitchen with a glass of wine in hand.

From Britt:

I just bought this table runner, which feels like a very adult thing to be excited about. It’s neutral, but still interesting, and can be styled for all seasons!

I don’t follow many fashion influencers but when I do, they’re French. Now I need a plaid mini skirt stat. Got my eye on this one.

If “Tanqueray” doesn’t mean anything to you, you missed out on 2020’s most redemptive (and shocking and entertaining) stories. Catch up here.

At first, Gua Sha weirded me out. This article convinced me to give it a try.

SO READY to vote and get my ballot organized. Here is a great resource to find out more about your local ballot — and you can take it with you to the polls for a cheat sheet!

From Danielle:

Since I’m still trying to do spa treatments at home, I invested in this face steamer and it’s been amazing for keeping moisture in my mug!

An oldie but a goodie; I just reread The 5 Love Languages. Do you know your love language?!

You don’t even have to love Jessie James Decker to be hyped about her recently launched cookbook, Just Feed Me. I’m excited to dig in!

Hats are my thing. I can’t control it! Just snagged this wide brim black topper from Target.

A new season of The Great British Baking Show is on Netflix. Consider it consumed.

From Jessi:

After our post this week about non-toxic beauty products, I really wanted to overhaul my nail polish collection. I tried Kure Bazaar’s polish and I’m in love! I’m a classic red kind of girl so I got the shade “Cherie”.

Metallics and sequins are back for the autumn/winter season, so I just bought this – and yes! It’s from Walmart fashion!!

I’ve been really proud of H&M’s initiative to create more sustainable fashion. These rad earrings are made from recycled zinc, and this lace-trimmed black dress (only $19.99!) is made from recycled polyester.

Happy weekend — and happy October! — from all of us at GWS!
